The Len Price 3 - Pictures (Sunday Times 07 02 2010)

The Len Price 3’s third album packs choppy Kinks riffs, Keith Moon whirlwind drums, Beatles harmonies, vintage Pete Townshend-style social observation, faint flowerings of nascent psychedelia and the occasional piddle of Herman’s Hermits-like whimsy into a perfectly observed pastiche of the sound of 1967. But the Kent trio, none of whom is actually called Len Price, transcend mere imitation by the speaker-shredding verve of their performances, these largely perfect pop songs flying off the analogue tape on which they were recorded to lodge themselves unshakeably in your subconscious. Keep Your Eyes on Me, a tale of tabloid tragedy is the best song the Who never wrote.
