Hailing from Oslo, Norway, the all-girl band Launderettes make driving, sexy, and high-energy revivalist garage rock. Formed in 2000, the band released a handful of singles as well as its debut album, Shaken and Disturbed.

The Norwegian all-girl garage band released their fourth album GETAWAY, on Little Steven Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records in 2013. Van Zandt has been a fan of The Launderettes for years, playing the band regularly on his internationally syndicated radio show The Underground Garage.

The bands music has been featured worldwide in commercials (Nike, T-Mobile), TV (Camp, MTV), and film (Switched at Birth). Meanwhile, having played over 250 shows, The Launderettes continue to make fans on the road, including opportunities at gigs hosted by Van Zandt, like the stage at Hard Rock Calling (Hyde Park, London, 2011 & 2012).

While recording, the band has brought their own personal musical heritage and fused it into a contemporary sound. So the result of the collaboration is a new interpretation of The Launderettes sixties sound, stretching far beyond the familiar garage rock genre.
